Also I always have a travel safety tip tab for my clients:

A Special Travel Tip from LaShawn, Owner of Elite Pet Travel ~ Bon Voyagé

✈️🚗🐾

Hey Fur-Family!

As the proud owner of Elite Pet Travel ~ Bon Voyagé, I know just how important your pets are to you — they’re family. Whether your companion has four paws or a purring motor, safety always comes first. Here’s my personal travel checklist to make sure your pet’s journey is smooth, safe, and stress-free:

1. Travel by Size & Method:

• Small Pets (Under 20 lbs): 🐶🐱 Your little ones may qualify to ride in-cabin on most airlines. Just be sure their soft-sided carrier fits under the seat — comfort and compliance are key!

• Larger Pets: 🦴 For our bigger fur-babies, travel usually means cargo or ground transport. Be sure to use a USDA-approved hard-sided crate that’s escape-proof and roomy enough for them to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably.

2. Crate Must-Haves:

• Label the crate with your pet’s name, your contact info, and “Live Animal” stickers on all sides.

• Toss in a familiar blanket or toy to ease their anxiety 🧸

• Use frozen water bowls to help avoid spills and keep your pet hydrated 💧

3. Watch That Weather:

• Avoid travel in extreme heat or cold 🌡️

• Most airlines won’t allow pets to fly in cargo if temps go above 85°F or below 45°F.

• Try booking flights during early morning or late evening to keep things cool — especially for snub-nosed or heat-sensitive breeds.

4. Quick Cat & Dog Tips:

• Cats: Help them get comfy in their carrier before the trip. A blanket over the crate can create a cozy “cave” 🐱🧺

• Dogs: Let them get plenty of exercise before travel to release energy 🐕‍🦺⚽

• Feed 3–4 hours before travel — and skip the sedatives unless your vet says otherwise 🥣⏰

Most importantly…

It’s your pet’s safety first! ✅

Let’s check off every safety precaution before takeoff or road time. And always check in with your airline, train station, or bus line for their latest pet travel rules and protocols. Every carrier is different!

And remember…

Travel isn’t just about the destination — it’s about making paw-sitive memories along the way!

From belly rubs to tail wags, I’m here to make sure your pet travels in style, safety, and love.

With love,

LaShawn
